My Testimony

If I may, I want to share a little of my testimony with you. With out going into great details or explicits I want to try to share with you in a way that may reach out to you or maybe even help you understand what someone that you love and care for might be feeling or is going through.

Romans 8:2   For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

There are all kinds of different walks in life. We sometime have been to some of the same places and other times some of us have been places that others have not. Some of us have been to some of the same places but, we could never admit it because of the way it may be looked on or judged by others and it could cause problems in our families or our relationships. With that being said let me say right here that the one who really needs to know already knows and knew before we knew. There is no need to go into great details of where you have been or what you have done. If you choose to do so that choice is yours to make.

John 3:17   For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

 The bible tells us in John 10:10   The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy... I believe the battle with the thief starts in our childhood. I know that mine did. I can't tell you when or how it started, but I know that I was very young. I think I was somewhere around the age of seven is when I can remember things starting to happen to me. I found myself doing things be cause I was ask to, told to and even sometimes putting myself into places that I shouldn't have been in because I knew what was going to happen. I can tell you that I know that I always had a choice.

The second part of John 10:10 says: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I can remember way back then that still soft voice saying to me don't do it, you don't really want to do that. But some how the thief had a hold on me and I made the wrong choices. My past had such a hold on me that I stayed in it through my teens on into adulthood. I made all kinds of excuses, blamed it on God as we always do. I couldn't be doing anything wrong God made me and God doesn't make mistakes. God did make me and he didn't make a mistake, I was making the mistakes and making the wrong choices.

Romans 8:3   For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

John 3:15   That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

I was forty seven before I completely walked away from my past. Because of who He is I am who I am. Because of His forgiveness, His love, His compassion, His strength and most of all His mercy and His grace I am free of my past. I walk in His light.

John 5:22   For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Romans 8:1   There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

If you are hurting, if you find yourself at a place where you feel like you are all alone and that no one would understand. You might be saying: You don't understand, you don't know what I have done or where I have been. Let me assure you I know how you feel. I have been there and I have had all those thoughts. Many times I had sat in church and heard the former drinkers and the former drug users or the former cheating spouses giving their testimonies. I also had these things in common with them but I still felt condemned because my past went darker and deeper. Or so I felt that way. But let me tell you that no matter what you have done or how bad you may think you have been my God loves you and if you are willing to confess to him that you know that you have come up short, I know that he is willing to forgive you. We all have sinned. It's not what sin it's just that we all have sinned. Just like the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery.

John 8:4   They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.   
John 8:7   So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
John 8:10   When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
John 8:11   She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

God loves us all and he sent his only begotten son to be our sacrifice and take all our sin upon himself. He freely laid his own life down for us. What greater love than to lay your life down for another.

Romans 8:35   Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Romans 8:37   Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
 Romans 8:36   As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Romans 8:38   For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Romans 8:39   Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

o       Some of my skills and work experiences include: empowering the poor to be poor no more, healing the brokenhearted, setting the captives free, healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind and setting at liberty them that are bruised, (See Luke 4:18).  

o       I am a Wonderful Counselor, (See Isaiah 9:6). People who listen to me shall dwell safely and shall not fear evil, (See Proverbs 1:33).  

o       Most importantly, I have the authority, ability and power to cleanse you of your sins, (See I John 1:7-9)


Educational Background

o       I encompass the entire breadth and length of knowledge, wisdom and understanding, (See Proverbs 2:6).  

o       In me are hid all of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, (See Colossians 2:3).  

o       My Word is so powerful; it has been described as being a lamp unto your feet and a lamp unto your path, (See Psalms 119:105).  

o       I can even tell you all of the secrets of your heart, (See Psalms 44:21).


Major Accomplishments

o       I was an active participant in the greatest Summit Meeting of all times, (See Genesis 1:26).  

o       I laid down my life so that you may live, (See II Corinthians 5:15).  

o       I defeated the archenemy of God and mankind and made a show of them openly, (See Colossians 2:15).  

o       I've miraculously fed the poor, healed the sick and raised the dead!

One Sacrifice of Christ Is Sufficient

 ¹For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near.  ²Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?
 ³But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year.
 ⁴For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
 ⁵Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,
         "SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED,
         BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;
    ⁶IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE.
    ⁷"THEN I SAID, 'BEHOLD, I HAVE COME
         (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME)
         TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.'"
 ⁸After saying above, "SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them" (which are offered according to the Law),
 ⁹then He said, "BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL." He takes away the first in order to establish the second.
 ¹⁰By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
 ¹¹Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;
 ¹²but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,
 ¹³waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.
 ¹⁴For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.
 ¹⁵And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,
    ¹⁶"THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM
         AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:
         I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART,
         AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,"
         He then says,
    ¹⁷"AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS
         I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."
 ¹⁸Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

A New and Living Way

 ¹⁹Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,  ²⁰by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,
 ²¹and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
 ²²let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
 ²³Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;
 ²⁴and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,
 ²⁵not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Christ or Judgment

 ²⁶For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,  ²⁷but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.
 ²⁸Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
 ²⁹How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
 ³⁰For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY " And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE."
 ³¹It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
 ³²But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings,
 ³³partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated.
 ³⁴For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one.
 ³⁵Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
 ³⁶For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
    ³⁷FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,
         HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
    ³⁸BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH;
         AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.
 ³⁹But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

Holy Spirit Explained

Holy Spirit: One of Three Persons of God

The Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. For many of us, this is a difficult concept to grasp. The Bible declares that there is only one living God, yet we learn from scripture that He comprises three separate personages. One way to partially visualize this concept is to examine the nature of water (H2O). Water is a single compound that can exist in three states – liquid, ice and vapor. An egg is another picture. It is comprised of the white, the yoke and the shell, yet it is still one egg. Of course, by no means do these examples paint a complete picture of our God, but they are illustrative of the fact that His three “persons” in no way invalidate His oneness.
Holy Spirit: Much More that an Ethereal Life Force
The Holy Spirit is not a vague, ethereal life force. He is not impersonal or unthinking. The Holy Spirit is a “person” equal in every way with God, the Father, and God, the Son. The Bible tells us that all the characteristics of God apparent in the Father and the Son are equally apparent in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is composed of intellect, emotions and will. In 1 Corinthians 2:11, we see an example of the Holy Spirit’s intellect and will: “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”

In Romans 15:30, we see the Holy Spirit has emotion, as represented by the capacity to love:“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;”

Although the Holy Spirit has all the characteristics of God, He has specific roles and functions in our lives. In John 16:13, we see the Spirit of Truth as our guide: “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.”

In John 14:26, we learn that the Holy Spirit is our Counselor and teacher: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

In 1 Corinthians 3:16, we see that the Holy Spirit lives inside us: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

In Acts 1:8, we understand where our power comes from: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you."

In Romans 8:14, we understand where our direction comes from: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

In Romans 8:26, we learn that the Holy Spirit is there for us in times of weakness and prayer: “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

In Hebrews 9:14, we see that the Holy Spirit is eternal. In 1 Corinthians 2:11, we see that the Holy Spirit is all-knowing. In Psalm 139, we see that the Holy Spirit is everywhere.
Holy Spirit: Attributes of God
The Holy Spirit, Father and Son all comprise a unified Godhead known in Christianity as the “Trinity.” A common misconception is that Christians believe in three different gods. This isn’t correct. While each “personage” is distinct in function, each shares together in the same deity and each reflects the divine attributes of the one living God.

In Christianity, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. In mainstream (Trinitarian) Christian beliefs he is the third person of the Trinity. As part of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and with God the Son.
The Christian theology of the Holy Spirit was the last piece of Trinitarian theology to be fully developed. There is also greater diversity in Christian theology of the Spirit (pneumatology) than there is in the theology of the Son (Christology) or of the Father.

Obey the spirit and deny the flesh

Romans 13:8-14 (New American Standard Bible)

 ⁸Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
 ⁹For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
 ¹⁰Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
 ¹¹Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.
 ¹²The night is almost gone, and the day is near Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
 ¹³Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy.
 ¹⁴But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.
